Abstract:
Abstract Chongqing is a province-level municipality of the PRC. A major city in Southwest China, its provincial status was approved at the Fifth Session of the Eighth National People’s Congress on March 14, 1997, succeeding its status as a sub-provincial administration of Sichuan Province. Administratively, it is one of the PRC’s four provincial-level municipalities (the other three are Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin).
