Commodities I: Derivatives Markets
Luc Nijs
Chapter 14 in The Handbook of Global Agricultural Markets, 2014, pp 315-333 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In the last ten years, commodity-derivatives markets underwent major changes in at least two areas: (1) the amount of money invested, and (2) the types of investors. An important source of information is provided by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission), which releases weekly data on the investment positions held by the different types of traders on the US commodity-derivatives markets.1
