Chapter 6 in Conquering Global Markets, 2013, pp 72-96 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The next step along the strategic alliance progression is when a globalizer invests in a venture overseas or, in other words, takes an equity position. Equity can take the form of acquiring a minority shareholding in an ongoing operation or the establishment of a new enterprise with two or more partners in the form of a joint venture. This chapter will examine both types of strategic alliances—minority stakeholdings and joint ventures, and relate the participants’ experiences back to the existing research.
