Chapter Chapter 3 in Private Equity in Emerging Markets, 2012, pp 21-29 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Private equity flow, like other components of foreign direct investment (FDI), is influenced by several economic, social, political, and institutional factors. This chapter focuses on the economic fundamentals that are most likely to impact the flow of private equity to emerging economies. In particular, we will present data on long-term average values and trends of key macroeconomic variables. We will also summarize the latest macroeconomic performance, and the institutional features of developing and emerging economies. The data are mostly presented by regional or other grouping of countries.
