Abstract: Abstract Since the 1978 reforms, China has undergone dramatic social and economic changes and now it has become one of the major international economic and political powers. In its move towards internationalism and modernization (which we can call “globalization”), its deeply rooted old cultural traditions, its encounter with Western thought and behaviour, and the need to upgrade on all levels of civil and business practice and to adapt to the global economy, have generated a new China within a dynamic and ever-changing social and cultural environment. This “evolution” (Louie, 2008: 2–3) of Chinese culture and its impact on different aspects of the country, from society and people, to organizations and business practices, is being widely discussed and studied.
