Abstract:
Abstract It has been suggested that Luke consistently talks about money, but Luke does not talk about money consistently.1 The analysis in this chapter will argue that this is only half-true. It is true that Luke has a lot to say about money. Luke makes over 50 mentions of words such as “rich/es” (15 total mentions), “money” (7), “coinage”2 (16), “wealth” (4), and “poor” (11). A total of 18 passages, listed in table 8.1, mention at least one of these words.
