Abstract:
Abstract The financial crisis of 2007–2009, which caused US households alone to suffer a $13 trillion decline in wealth, and accelerated the contraction of the investment management industry that has been taking place since 2000 (Investment Company Institute, 2012), created opportunities to identify, study and remedy weaknesses in the asset management process that can be linked to poor operational and control practices on the part of asset management institutions.
