Abstract:
Abstract If we view investment management as a classic industrial activity, the firm produces service products from a resource stream containing people, money and other financial assets, regulation and technology. Technology makes it possible to do new things, and competitors’ use of technology may force others to use a particular technology simply to remain competitive. Changes in the regulatory regime may provide compelling events to review and further optimize the target operating model of the firm; this in turn may also have implications for the new technology and operational systems involved.
