Communication Design: Deconstructing and Re-Making Patterns
Jesse Sostrin
Chapter 8 in Re-Making Communication at Work, 2013, pp 89-94 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract With an understanding of the basic chemistry and physics of communication we can now focus on basic design, or what gets made when the building blocks of communication and the rules that influence their interactions combine. Knowing some of the basic design principles will help you understand how to deconstruct existing patterns and construct new ones. If you are starting to ask yourself if all of this is really worth the effort, remember that it is not really a true up or down choice to participate or not participate. You cannot sit back and consider whether or not you want to invest in making communication at work because you are already doing it.
