Lifting the Veil

Chapter 6 in The Influence of Islamic Values on Management Practice, 2014, pp 136-182 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Chapter 5 went some way, but only some way, to answering the research question — how do Islamic values influence management practice in Morocco? It presented the thoughts, ideas and reflections of the participants on the phenomenon under exploration. Despite inflections in tone, there was harmony in their voices as they identified and explored with me a number of key themes, including Islam, the cultural ingestion of Islam, cultural characteristics and education, which they feel contribute to the ‘experience’ of managing in Morocco. This chapter fuses together these themes with the theories and concepts already established from the extant research in order to properly position this research within the (albeit loose) heuristic framework.
