Chapter Chapter 12 in Betrayed, 2013, pp 187-204 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract BRAC, the largest NGO in the world, shows what one person with a clear vision and keen mind can do to empower the poor and contribute to the transformation of a society. Established in 1972 to provide humanitarian relief to the tens of millions of Bangladeshis suffering in the aftermath of the war of independence (and thus originally called the Bangladesh Rehabilitation Assistance Committee), it has evolved into one of the largest promoters of development worldwide.
