Dangerous Waters: Risk Inherent in Comprehensive Swing-Based Strategies
Michael C. Thomsett
Chapter Chapter 3 in Options for Swing Trading, 2013, pp 61-74 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract By their nature, options are perceived as carrying high risk and properly so if used in a risky manner. These contracts can be very risky and speculative, but they can also be quite conservative, income-generating, and risk-reducing. It all depends on how strategies are selected and applied. Swing trading is perfectly suited to the use of options, and market risks are effectively managed with options in place of stock.
