Mismanaging Our Economies: The International Dimension

Bryan Gould

Chapter Chapter 9 in Myths, Politicians and Money, 2013, pp 117-128 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract What’s not to like about free trade? Trade is obviously a good thing, and ‘free’ trade must surely be better than the alternative? In the western or developed world, the ‘free trade’ label need only be attached to persuade us that the outcome must be an unalloyed blessing. Yet the actual basis for this touching faith has almost never been debated.
