Abstract: Abstract We have seen that the ‘free market’ allows those with dominant power in the marketplace to grab what they can, to keep it in defiance of any claims by wider society on the wealth that is concentrated in a few hands, and then to use that hugely reinforced advantage and much greater wealth to entrench and extend their power.
