Conclusion: What Can Be Done?

Bryan Gould

Chapter Chapter 18 in Myths, Politicians and Money, 2013, pp 232-243 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract We are now in a position to attempt a comprehensive answer to the questions identified in the introduction to this book. We asked why the apparent triumph of the West, of western economic management, of western values, of western civilisation as a whole, had proved to be so short-lived? Why is the West now on the back foot in so many ways, suffering a manifest loss of confidence, and facing challenges from all quarters on matters economic, social, political and cultural?
