Chapter 3 in Leadership Development for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice, 2014, pp 26-44 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In 1969, a paper entitled ‘Interprofessional education in the health sciences: A project conducted at the University of British Columbia’ was published in the Milbank Quarterly (Szasz, 1969). In the ensuing 40-plus years, much progress has been made in realizing interprofessionalism in health sciences education. Nevertheless, many of the issues discussed by Szasz four decades ago remain true to this day.
