Abstract:
Abstract For decades engineering students and professional engineers have attempted to assist communities around the world to achieve sustainable equilibrium1. At Colorado School of Mines, my colleagues and I established an interdisciplinary humanitarian engineering (HE) minor program that incorporates Sustainable Community Development (SCD) practices. This chapter evaluates the lessons learned and challenges faced over an eight-year span of an HE potable water project in Colinas de Suiza, Honduras.2
