Abstract: Abstract Throughout this book, it has been maintained that corruption is closely linked with the way governments conduct their affairs in modern societies. Therefore, the growth of corruption is probably closely linked with the growth of some of the activities of the government in the economy. It is unlikely that corruption can be substantially reduced without modifying the way governments operate. The fight against corruption is, thus, intimately linked with the reform of the state.
