Abstract: Abstract Everything happens for a reason. That does not mean that some supernatural force or metaphysical entity is governing the events in our lives in some predestined game to which we respond, as if each person is the focal point of their own narcissistic universe, custom-tailored to guide us through existence. It simply means that there is something that caused each event or action to occur, and that everyone is subject to them. Whether or not your organization wins in some conflict or competition has nothing to do with gods or fates but, rather, is entirely dependent on the performance of the organization which is, in itself, dependent on the performance of the organization’s leadership. Whether you get laid-off of your job depends on the performance of your company and the skills demanded in the current labor market. It is not the fault of fate if companies do not need someone with your skills, it is up to you to ensure that you keep your skills up to date with the changing needs of companies. If a company files bankruptcy, it was not a god that caused this to happen; in fact, it is possible to predict whether a company will file bankruptcy with 90 percent accuracy using an analysis called Altman’s Z-score, which utilizes a predefined series of weighted variables related to the performance of the organization to make that prediction.
