Chapter 1 in The Global Rise of Asian Transformation, 2014, pp 1-24 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract A decade into the twenty-first century, Asia sees a promising future. Asian countries are catching up with the West by transforming primarily agrarian societies to industrial powerhouses. Manufacturing is driving innovation, productivity growth, and higher standards of living for hundreds of millions across Asia. In the colonial past, the Asian production and supply chains served Western consumers. But the world is evolving, and an era centered in and shaped by Asia—an Asian Century—finally may be dawning.
