CASE 11: Pipistrel: The Freedom of Flight
Frank Pira
A chapter in Entrepreneurial Icebreakers, 2015, pp 290-311 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The wheels of the aircraft of Ivo Boscarol, CEO of Pipistrel, touched down on the grass strip at Ajdovšcina Airport, 70 kilometers west-southwest of Ljubljana in Slovenia. The vast expanse of grass looked sparse and uninhabited, as usual. Aircraft rarely parked outside because of the Burja, a cold north-northeast katabatic downslope wind in the Adriatic that blew in gusts.
