A chapter in The Ambidextrous Organization, 2015, pp 249-260 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Megatrends such as aging population, mobility, and green energy are creating new opportunities. The question is who can capture the value of these opportunities? Is it the start-up companies? Is it the ubiquitous Google, Apple, or Facebook? What about the existing organizations in industries such as pharmaceuticals, energy, insurance, telecoms, and so on? Can they take advantage of the opportunities presented? Moreover, what is the risk to their core business today, will they lose their relevance as much as the manufacturers of typewriters did many years ago?
