Chapter 3 in Competing against Multinationals in Emerging Markets: Case Studies of SMEs in the Manufacturing Sector, 2015, pp 35-50 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The case of Yono Industries traces the development of a small detergent manufacturing plant in the manufacturing sector in Jamaica over the years to better understand the factors that contribute to its survival and prosperity over time. The case traces the early beginnings of the firm, its expansion over time and provides insights into the future of the enterprise. In addition, it focuses on the firm’s products, production processes, supply chain issues, and quality control processes as well. Similarly, the case also looks at the governance of the business and the business environment within which the firm operates and extrapolates how this environment will impact on its future.
