Chapter 5 in Product Development Strategy, 2015, pp 125-146 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter provides a theoretical framework and the results of empirical research on innovation capacity. It also discusses the moderating role of innovation capacity in the relation between product development and entrepreneurial firm performance. The chapter begins with a discussion of innovation capacity in SMEs, and provides a critical analysis of product innovation, process innovation and R&D in high-tech SMEs. The relationship between innovation capacity and entrepreneur-ship is also discussed. The discussion then focuses on the moderating role of innovation capacity in facilitating product development and consequently increasing entrepreneurial firm performance.
