Entrepreneurs in Uniform

Chapter Chapter 3 in Bleeding Talent, 2012, pp 59-84 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract IS MILITARY LEADERSHIP SOMEHOW DIFFERENT from other styles of leadership? Most of us probably agree that it is. Civilians, if they had to describe military-style leadrship, would use words such as “aggressive,” “brave,” and “strict.” But how would veterans themselves describe it? Many, particularly American troops still on active duty, might use the exact same terms. The one term that I guarantee wouldn’t be used, but that probably best describes military leaders, is “entrepreneurial.”
