Abstract Just about every manager in a developing country we spoke around situations that were foreign to them. They found themselves having to make decisions without having access to sufficient information; or they were dealing with bosses who seemed to be motivated by currying favor with influential people rather than by achieving business goals; or they struggled to understand directives they were given or found themselves dealing with contradictory objectives.
