Abstract:
Abstract The convergence of culture or amalgamation of the world’s cultures into a single culture as predicted in 1964 (Richman, 1964) has yet to occur. The elimination of religion as a factor in the social development of Western societies as predicted by many scholars did not occur (Bouma, 2006). In Australia, 61.1% of the population declared affiliation with a religion in the 2011 census (ABS, 2013). There is still a multitude of religions with large numbers of followers. With the onset of globalization developed nations across the globe have become incredibly diverse within the context of religion and this change is also reflected in their workforces (Borstorff & Arlington, 2011; Hicks, 2003; Miller & Timothy, 2010).
