National Theme

Stanley Bruce Thomson

Chapter Chapter 6 in Religion and Organizational Stigma at Work, 2015, pp 185-212 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The theme of national influences and the categories that might arise were expected to play a minor role in the outcomes of this research project. What was unexpected was the strength of this theme and its categories, as they emerged. It was discussed by the participants in one way or another in all the interviews except one, and all the focus groups except one. In the case of the one interview, RIW7, it was not discussed because the interview focused a great deal on his faith and the visibility/invisibility concept, and as a result the interview time ran out. In the case of Focus Group 3 due to time restrictions national influences did not enter the discussion; however, the importance of sports did.
