A chapter in Global Automobile Demand, 2015, pp 206-207 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The automobile markets of the emerging economies under review in this volume differ in many ways. Some have experienced recent high-growth spells, like China, and to a much lesser extent, India; others are engaged in much slower growth patterns (Brazil and Mexico), are made fragile by instability (Russia), or may be confronted with the so-called middle-income trap (Thailand, Malaysia). Still, some common lessons can be drawn from the various case studies gathered in this volume.
