Chapter 10 in Driven to the Brink, 2017, pp 201-219 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In the preceding chapters we have illustrated how shortcomings in corporate governance and the prevailing culture within a company have driven companies close to, and sometimes beyond, the brink of disaster. While we acknowledge that other factors also contribute to failure, we contend that effective board oversight and a productive ethical culture will, if not always prevent, at least mitigate the consequences of poor decisions and external shocks.
