Conclusion

R. Kelf-Cohen

Chapter 15 in British Nationalisation 1945–1973, 1973, pp 265-271 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The nationalised industries, other than steel, have been operating for twenty-five years or more. This book is an attempt, within defined limits, to write their history. It is easy to be prolix on the subject — the supply of material has become vast. So some selection and compression have been necessary. The boundaries between State-owned and other industries are becoming blurred; so some treatment has been given to the subject of the mixed economy, which in the course of the seventies will become more mixed than ever.
