The Policy of Separate Development as a Framework for Development in South Africa
W. B. Vosloo
A chapter in Accelerated Development in Southern Africa, 1974, pp 147-168 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Concern with ‘development’ is probably as old as the recognition of status inequalities between societies. It can be traced back to the invention of the term barbaros by the ancient Greeks and to many other historical examples of contact between cultures and civilisations. But since the aftermath of the Second World War, concern with development gradually emerged as a universal priority.
