Abstract:
Abstract On the day before the main Conference, a Workshop was held for a limited number of participants. The theme was ‘Education and Training for Development’, and this was discussed under three heads: 1. Basic considerations on which a system of education and training for accelerated development should be planned. 2. Identification of the major problems involved in planning education for development (with special reference to evidence contained in questionnaires completed beforehand by Education Ministries in Southern Africa). 3. Practical ways and means to realise the most important objectives identified by the Workshop.
