Policies and Interests of a Donor Country: The Commonwealth Development Corporation

F. R. Wilson

A chapter in Accelerated Development in Southern Africa, 1974, pp 643-652 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract This paper deals exclusively with the operations of the Commonwealth Development Corporation, a U.K. statutory body. As the following paragraphs will show, the Corporation is not an aid-provider in the commonly accepted sense, and it operates rather differently from the development organisations of most aid-giving countries. It is thought, however, that a brief description of its methods and interests may be of value in the discussion of this topic.
