Abstract:
Abstract A major factor distinguishing France from other Western industrial societies has been the role played by government in the management of the economy. While the contrast with Japan and Italy may be slight, the direct way in which the French administration has intervened in industrial affairs has been in sharp contrast to the usual practice in the United States, England and Germany.
