Chapter 6 in The Emerging European Enterprise, 1976, pp 63-75 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter the statistical data on strategy and structure of the top 100 German industrials are presented and analysed. The data collected for three reference years, 1950, 1960 and 1970, will first be used in aggregate form to show the overall trends for the twenty-year period. Then transition matrices, compiled from individual companies’ moves during each of the two decades, will be analysed for patterns of strategic and organisational change and for the relationship between them.
