Report on the United Kingdom (1)
Paul Bareau
Chapter 12 in The ‘New Inflation’ and Monetary Policy, 1976, pp 256-261 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract It is my task, and let me say at once a somewhat sombre task, to present a report on the ‘new inflation’ as it is being seen and operated and endured in the United Kingdom. And if it is sombre, may I add that there is room for mutual commiseration between the United Kingdom and Italy not only because we have similar economic problems in common, but because we have both been finally and I think very unfairly booted out of the World Cup!
