Chapter 10 in The Developing Common Market, 1976, pp 121-131 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The Treaty of Rome imposed on the member-countries of the Common Market a task of unprecedented complexity. It decreed that the Six should unify their economies behind a protectionist tariff wall under conditions which if they are not to be described as planification on a European scale must be regarded as wiping out the last vestiges of laissez-faire.
