John Paxton
Chapter 5 in The Developing Common Market, 1976, pp 60-70 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The first task of the Treaty of Rome was to set up the Customs Union. Its chapter on this lays down the principles, firstly, for the elimination of customs duties as between the member-states and, secondly, for the establishment of a common customs tariff for everything they buy from outside the Common Market.
