Francis A. Lees

Chapter 3 in Foreign Banking and Investment in the United States, 1976, pp 17-32 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we review the advantages inherent in direct U.S. representation, and point to the factors responsible for the expansion of foreign banking operations in the United States. A concluding section of this chapter analyses the development of foreign banking on a quantitative basis, and traces the expansion of foreign banks in several of the states which have been important growth centres.
