Abstract: Abstract In his role as father of Regional Science, Walter Isard has vigorously advocated the necessity of an explicit consideration of time and space in theorising about social development. It is also one of his major achievements that he has deepened our understanding of the importance of a simultaneous introduction of time and space in economic models.
