Abstract:
Abstract With the enlargement of the European Economic Community the Commission has the task of operating a competition policy covering one of the largest and most important trading areas in the world. It is a challenge which the Commission proposes to meet. The Directorate-General for Competition under the leadership of the Commissioner, Mr Borschette*, and the Director-General, Mr Schlieder, is, well equipped for the task and determined to put such a policy into effect.
