Chapter 14 in The Economy of Kuwait, 1979, pp 251-261 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This concluding chapter is not intended to be a summary of the main body of the rest of the book, but is designed instead to highlight some of the salient problem areas in the Kuwait economy whose importance became evident in the light of this study. These problem areas are not only to be found within the boundaries of the country but also extend to include Kuwait’s relationships with the rest of the world. While focusing on these separately, it must be emphasised that in most cases they are basically interrelated and often may not be of a purely economic nature. In addition to defining major problem areas, this chapter is also designed to examine the likely future pattern of the development of Kuwait as it is seen to be emanating and the possible changes in international and other circumstances which may affect it.
