Chapter 4 in Theories of Management and the Executive in the Developing World, 1978, pp 34-40 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Organisation as a whole is viewed as a system — a system of interconnected parts. The overall control system of organisation can be seen as an information-processing, decision-making network steering the organisation toward its general goals. It is a system of loops (decision centres), or a hierarchy of interlocking loops at the bottom of which the loops become smaller and more numerous (see Figure 4.1). Thus, it has become popular to talk of a ‘systems approach’.
