Chapter 4 in Managing Manufacturing Operations: Analysis and Discussion, 1978, pp 13-16 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this case is to study how final stock levels should be determined where the customer buys directly from finished stock and required service levels have been set. The difficulty is to decide what stock levels are reasonable in the light of the variation in customer demand and the uncertain lead times on the arrival of supplies.
