Chapter 3 in Technical Innovation and British Economic Performance, 1980, pp 38-66 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter compares the level, pattern and trend of British innovative activities with those of other countries, and analyses the degree to which national differences in innovative activities are related to one important aspect of national economic performance: shares of world manufacturing exports. We begin by discussing the problems and possibilities of measuring innovative activities.
