Chapter 18 in Disparities in Economic Development since the Industrial Revolution, 1981, pp 189-198 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract This modest contribution to the subject of regional economic inequality confines itself to a description of the major trends in regional inequality and a brief consideration of the possible causes of these trends. Little systematic work has yet been done on this subject, so my remarks should be regarded as introductory and provisional.
