Abstract:
Abstract This case-survey arose from the growth of white-collar unionism in the early 1970s. It took place in a financial services company where the National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE) was pressing for recognition. The survey was partially responsible for resolving this situation and bringing the company to grant recognition. It also provided an opportunity to study employees’ attitudes as close as possible to the moment when they decided whether to support unionisation.
