Exchange Rate Policies in Peru, 1971–9
Denise Williamson
Chapter 8 in Exchange Rate Rules, 1981, pp 230-242 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Peru has experimented with various exchange rate systems. Up to 1976, when she first adopted the crawling peg, fixed exchange rates were favoured for many years; as devaluations were only admitted as a last resort, when they did come they came in big steps, as was the case in October 1975 and in June 1976.
