Abstract:
Abstract In these words from his famous 1953 speech ‘History Will Above Me’, Fidel Castro expressed a part of his indictment of the capitalist system which dominated Cuba at that time. Capitalism, he maintained, kept the rural areas impoverished and prevented industrialisation; only a revolution could change all that.
